A BAM Spring Festival exclusive is a contemporary dance project commissioned by BAM to three young companies to investigate the essence of fragility in its various forms. No booking is required to attend the performance. It will be staged at two different times: at 11 am and at 4 pm.
We will reflect on that time when fragile beings search for, pursue and aspire to what can bring them to the blossoming of the soul.
The awareness that the cold might return or remain in some areas of us, a memo on the everyday battles with our fragility, will allow us to sow honest, sturdy and proliferous relationships. Facing up to the difficulties of our self will help us to understand what confidence means. The solution might reach us even all of a sudden thanks to the other one.
Mirada is a multimedia performance whose vocation is to suggest to the audience new ways to contemplate the presence of a body in space, by putting forward an ultra-dynamic viewpoint: extremely distant from the performer, extremely close to a technology that amplifies their presence. The show explores fragility as a quality that resounds in the body and in space, a fine thread that connects the body to the landscape that accommodates it, where every element interacts in a precarious and precious balance.
Fertilis is a site-specific performance that investigates the intrinsic intelligence of the female body and the world of plants and their ancestral dialectic, examining the concept of fertility not only as a principle of generation and abundance, but also as a symbol of radical contradictions, beauty and monstrosity, force and fragility. Fertilis starts up choreographic dialogues between the body and the world of plants, generating flourishes of resistance, invisible and underground, in equilibrium between fragility and power.
