MANGA Mozart – Giovanni Falzone “Freak Machine” with MUNEDAIKO

An unsuspected concert, a journey in search of freedom and improvisation, where the figure of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart is at the centre, playing the starring role.

The trumpet player Giovanni Falzone leads the Freak Machine trio, creating a perfect machine for alternating moments of execution with well-defined structures and moments of pure interplay. The jazz trio opens up to rock and progressive music with a skill in the world of classical music and while connecting and playing with a trio of sacred Japanese drums.

A Mozart journey in a place Mozart himself knew nothing about: his themes will be re-interpreted and relaunched in an absolutely new and at the same time recognisable way. True new standards that highlight Mozart’s soul, his “manga”, released from all conventions and all bonds with what has already been heard. A path leading to discovery for everyone, and not only for new ears but for the artists themselves as they have a try at building the unexpected. 

The concert will be divided into sections: 

• A section surrounding Mozart with the Freak Machine; 
• A section of only Japanese drums with flute and dancing; 
• A section of only trumpet with Japanese drums; 
• A section with one drum and the Freak Machine; 
• A finale with a drum trio and the Freak Machine.
