Lino Guanciale reads “The Baron in the Trees”

A deed of rebellion that turns into revolution, a flight onto the trees that opens up to a new view of the world, to an awareness of the individual’s role in society and of our ability to react to what surrounds us.

Lino Guanciale reads “Il barone Rampante” (“The Baron in the Trees”) by Italo Calvino and, accompanied by the violin of Renata Lacko, goes over the feats of Cosimo Piovasco di Rondò – his “exemplary” life capable of renegotiating obligations and conventions – with several excerpts of this 20th century masterpiece. The book was one of the first in Italy to ask questions with an aware (and critical) view of the environment and ecology, the power of transformation that nature has over individuals and vice versa.
