OPEN CALL – ALL4BAM: Spring!
OPEN CALL: Dance with BAM!
What would BAM Season Day be without a shared action open to all citizens?
On the occasion of the season festival dedicated to the arrival of spring, we will try out together a choreographic creation course by Virgilio Sieni.
“SPRING” is divided into a cycle of activities on the body’s languages in relation to urban space and on how a gesture can restore forms of encounter to design the city of the future.
Bringing together a large group of people in a dawning gesture community, that is, people of all ages, origins, abilities and fragilities, is the first primary action of a process identified in its physical, poetic, relational and living aspects.
Exploration of the tactile dimension of proximity and closeness processes the sense of community and of relating to nature: through the awareness brought to the body and to others, sharing the democratic strategies of dialogue, observation and listening.
We will together create a choreography that goes forward by little gestures and tactile transmissions, a continuum of vortexes that move, like seeding, into the park’s tracks.

VIRGILIO SIENI
Italian dancer and choreographer, artist active on an international scale for the top theatre and music institutions, art foundations and museums. His research is based on the idea of body as a place for welcoming diversities and and as space for developing the archaeological complexity of the gesture. He creates his language starting from the concept of transmission and tactility, with interest focused on the haptic and multisensory dimension of the gesture and of the individual by investigating the themes of resonance and gravity, and of the poetic, political, scientific and archaeological multitude of the body. Director of the Venice Biennale, Dance Sector from 2013 to 2016, Virgilio Sieni today directs the National Centre of Dance Production in Florence, recognised as a centre of significant interest for dance by the Italian Ministry of Culture.
