This year, together with the children, we will work not only with vegetables and cut flowers, but insects as well!
By growing vegetables and flowers, kids learn the basics of farming and the importance of biodiversity and sustainability. Cultivating a garden teaches children to take care of plants, to understand the natural cycles and to respect the environment. And also to develop collaboration.
Flowers, with their colours and fragrances, enrich the garden and attract helpful insects such as the pollinators, creating an environment full of life and beauty. We will also learn a lot about the importance of these insects.
Pollinating insects are those insects that transport pollen from one flower to another, allowing impollination and the resulting formation of the fruit. They play a crucial role in the world’s ecology as they are responsible for the impollination of over 80% of wild plants, in this way ensuring their survival.
A garden for kids is therefore a place where they can grow, learn and have fun.
