Duo violino e pianoforte @Volvo Studio Milano

Following the day of Sunday with the park transformed into an open air stage for concerts, installations, sound picnics and curious musical sculptures from evening to morning, like for every BAM Season Day, Volvo Studio Milano will host the customary #BAMoff. On Tuesday, 20 June, at 7:30 pm, we will present the “Duo violino e pianoforte” with the violinist Cecilia Drago, former student of Conservatorio G. Verdi di Milano, and the pianist Daniela Poiatti.

The duo’s primary objective is to share its passion for chamber music with a strong interest in a folkloric late Romantic and Hebrew repertoire. Hence, importance is attributed to composers of the 19th century national schools, such as Grieg and Dvorák, in which the popular Scandinavian and Slavic melodies blend together with the dominating musical and harmonic language.

The programme, lasting about one hour, will offer the following pieces:

Dvorak, Four Romantic Pieces, op. 75 for violin and piano

Grieg, Sonata in F Major op. 8 for violin and piano

Bloch, Nigun (Baal Shem 2) for violin and piano

Massnet: Meditation from Thais for violin and piano
