Classical and jazz compared: Mozart the meeting point
The interpretation of several of the most famous arias and of some renowned duos taken from Mozart’s works, followed by an improvisation on the piano with a jazz slant of the theme.
The alternation of the original Mozart and his jazz double generates a fascinating journey between the classical and jazz genres, demonstrating the vital relevance of the work of the great composer from Salzburg and at the same time the ability of the musical language of Afro-American origin to dialogue with histories and cultures, in this way expanding emotional and stylistic horizons.
The concert will be introduced by the musicologist Luigi di Fronzo.
Camilla Vitaletti (soprano) together with Alessandro Lotto (piano) for the performance of Mozart arias, in addition to Samuele Lindo for the jazz improvisation part at the piano.
