Performing Arts in the Park: The Mediterranean that dances
A concert dedicated to the great sea and to a few of the rhythms and melodies that reside in it down to its very depths.
At the centre of the stage is the extraordinary energy of the Orchestra Popolare Italiana, from the Auditorium Parco della Musica in Rome, conducted by Ambrogio Sparagna, offering a performance festival capable of enlivening the audience and making it hop to the dizzy rhythm of the Mediterranean folk dances.
During the show, the audience is turned into the ‘star of the festival’ by the rhythms of the orchestra, the songs by Peppe Servillo, the sinuous Hellenic melodies of Theodoro Melissinopoulos, the power of the oud of the Tunisian Ziad Trabelsi, and with the Italo-Turk singer Yasemin Sannino. And the energy of the rhythm lies within the ritual dances performed by the couple Francesca Trenta and Stefano Campagna, who lead us to experience extraordinary charms and emotions typical of the ancient ritual festivals of Mare Nostrum.
